The Almond family acquired the Hesketh Tavern in 2005 and immediately closed for a £300k refurbishment to bring the pub back to its former glory.

Along with decorating in and out, we reclaimed paneling from old churches, sourced antique furniture and reframed and mounted turn-of-the-century photos of Cheadle and other local scenes to give the pub that lost feel of the Great British Pub.

Carvery Meals
Our Carvery meals are now famous but we offer so much more than the best Sunday Dinner in Cheshire (see Menu/ Events & themes).

The Pub
Hesketh Tavern welcomes all, while keeping a great local crowd and community rapport. Landlords James and Doug are often at the bar with the regulars of a tea-time, offering around free tapas to stop you rushing home!

A mature crowd is encouraged (21 yrs +) and comfort is standard!

We added The Hesketh Trail playground to our award-winning gardens and welcome families (see Kids Corner).

The Ales
James personally looks after the cellar and the ten draught beers and ciders on offer. Adnams (Suffolk) and Theakstons (Yorkshire) bitter are poured to award-winning standard and the lagers are the coldest in town!

The Wines
Free of tie, James sources wines from the renowned Grants of St James, specializing in the popular New World Wines and selling each one by the glass
