Currently closed and undergoing an exciting refurbishment Re-opening early marchFormerly known as the Hesketh Tavern and one of Cheadle Hulme’s oldest pubs, ‘The Hesketh’ has closed its doors and will re-open early March. With a shared investment of £250,000 from us and Star Pubs and Bars, the pub will be sympathetically renovated to its fondly-loved traditional splendour.
“We’ve listened to our loyal customers who enjoy the old-fashioned, British, quirky pub feel” James Almond said. The design will play to The Hesketh’s strengths by retaining and enhancing its traditional features. These will be married with new features such as worn leather and an earthy colour scheme, which were inspired by the historical public houses of London.
Alongside the pub’s aesthetic enhancements, we’re also updating the menu to include new dishes to complement our famous carvery. These have been chosen to reflect the new image by creating a more upmarket, yet comfortable and casual dining experience, whilst of course remaining excellent value. James said, “The positive guest feedback we received following the addition of artisan pizzas and premium burgers to our menu has encouraged us to update and extend it further to offer grills, fish dishes and more grazing or lighter bites to make a more contemporary pub menu.”
Chloe Johnson is returning to The Hesketh as General Manager, after three years successfully managing two other of our other pubs. She said “I can’t wait for the refurb and new look pub; we’ve really upped our game. I’m looking forward to welcoming some familiar faces back once we’ve opened and hopefully a few new ones too. We’re looking to recruit more bright and bubbly team members to join our passionate and dedicated team. We have positions for all roles so please get in touch via our website if you’re interested in working with us,” Chloe will be leading a newly trained team and guests can be sure to expect a more attentive and polished service style to suit the more refined menu.
James said “The Hesketh is well-loved by its regulars and enjoys ongoing success after 11 years, since we have held its reigns. However, it needed a ‘sparkle’ as some of the once contemporary elements had become dated even though the traditional features had only grown in charm. This inspired us to enhance the existing features and play to the strengths of the historic pub. We’re looking forward to refining our menu and redefining The Hesketh as an exceptional food pub in Cheshire.”
The Hesketh is due to re-open early March, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date.
