Many of you have been enquiring about whether we will be launching a delivery service. We know you have been missing our lovely home cooked food and have wanted to show your support, we can’t thank you enough for this!
We have considered this option, logistically it would have been a challenge to deliver (excuse the pun!) and we feel no need to put our team under any unnecessary risk, especially since we have had confirmation that the government will be supporting us by subsidising 80% of our employees’ pay.
It is no for now but not forever, we will continue to review this in line with government advice.
All of our perishable stock was given to our loyal team and local charities when we closed so we can assure you that it has not been wasted.
It’s not all doom and gloom!
We have been overwhelmed by the positive stories that have come from this time of struggle and we wanted to share some of these with you:
On Thursday, Assistant Manager, Aaron volunteered his own time to make broccoli, spicy tomato and French onion soup for the local charity Sandwich Angels, who help disadvantaged people.
Luke, Spread Eagle General Manager, organised a walk for his team on Saturday who were all missing each other very much. Of course they followed social distancing rules!
For those who are struggling with the supermarkets:
Cold Choice, who supply us with meat have opened up shop at their site in Hazel Grove, they are currently open:
Monday to Friday 7am to 2pm
Saturday & Sunday 8am to 11am
Please contact them directly for more information:
0161 223 9157, Unit 1 Newby Road, Hazel Grove SK7 5DA
Set Produce, who supply us with our fresh fruit and vegetables have been in touch to ask if they can set up a stall on the Puss in Boots car park. Yesterday’s efforts were very well received (selling out in just a couple of hours!). They are back at the Puss in Boots today and are currently planning to extend to the Jolly Sailor as well as the Puss in Boots tomorrow.
Customers are asked to park 40 yards away, walk to the nearest empty car parking bay and wait to be called to adhere to social distancing rules.
We will endeavour to support them in this for as long as we are able to. Please keep a look out on their Facebook page for live updates on this.
Rest assured we will be back as soon as it safe and viable to do so. Until then, stay safe and look after each other.
We would like to thank you all again for your unwavering support in what has been a very difficult week for us.
