We are adding a sixth pub to our estate, the Jolly Sailor in Davenport.
There have been whispers for months surrounding the future of the 19th century pub, following its closure in January this year, with speculation from disappointed locals that they would be permanently losing the heart of their community.
However, as the rumour mill has been turning it has also correctly predicted our interest in the business and we’ll be honest we didn’t do much to discourage the gossip! We are proud of our reputation for taking on and turning around pubs that had been a little ‘un-loved’.
We’re delighted we can make the official announcement that we’re taking over the pub, we’ve had months of negotiations with the brewery and we’ve been desperate to respond to all of the positive feedback we have received from the people of Davenport via social media and our loyal guests in our five pubs.
We’ve been listening closely to what they want, and we will be doing what we can to make sure the pub works for them. Of course, we will be serving our famous carvery but, having listened and seen the success of our extended menus in our existing pubs, we will offer a good pub menu alongside, as well as keeping dedicated areas for drinkers. It’s safe to say the locals want their pub back and that’s exactly what we’re going to give them.
The pub will see an investment close to £1,000,000 and is due to re-open early 2019
If you’re interested in joining the Jolly Sailor team then we would love to hear from you, we will be holding recruitment events throughout the refurbishment.
