One Small Step 2024 FAQs
For our 10th One Small Step Pub Walk, we are not charging entry fee for anyone with PWS and their immediate families (i.e, parents & siblings) – Please email Hannah@almond-pubs.co.uk to confirm your place.
How much is it for children?
This year we have changed our pricing for children of primary school age (under 11). We have taken off the £10 donation that goes straight to charity and are instead charging a more pocket-friendly £8.
Infants under 4 are free of charge; infant t-shirts are available to purchase for £5. Please contact Hannah for yours – Hannah@almond-pubs.co.uk or buy on the morning at the Fletchers Arms (sizes may be limited)
Is the route pushchair friendly?
The route was planned to be scenic and as enjoyable as possible and, as a result, is mainly off-road. There are styles, narrow/ overgrown pathways, and uneven surfaces…just to make it that little bit more challenging! The route may therefore be difficult for cyclists, wheelchair users and children in prams/ buggies (although definitely doable with some helping hands!).
If you wish to join us at a later point we suggest that the Spread Eagle or Puss in Boots would be more suitable for anyone worried about the off-road parts. There will be no charge for anyone only completing part of the walk, however, please note that all refreshments and food will need to be paid for as normal. For anyone wanting to get in the spirit, One Small Step T-shirts will be available to purchase for £5 at all of the pubs. All money from the sale of the t-shirts will go straight to the FPWR UK.
We would recommend if only completing a shorter version that it is better to complete the later sections so you get to cross the finish line and enjoy the party atmosphere at Jolly Sailor.
I still have my T-shirt from last year, can I wear this?
If you have your t-shirt from last year then please do bring it along to wear as this will save the charity significant money.
Are there vegetarian/ vegan/ gluten free items available on the day?
Yes of course! Please let us know your requirements in the sign-up form so that we can arrange for this to be available at the Puss in Boots ( You will be given a different coloured ticket so that the pub can easily see your requirements).
I am no longer able to make it, can I get my money back?
Yes of course, please just let us know so that we can arrange for your payment to be refunded. In the past we’ve found many of you have been generous when unable to attend and have donated your fee (thank you!!). If you’re unable to attend but would still like to donate your fee then please let us know as soon as you can. This way we can easily ensure the full fee goes to charity and we may be able to fill your spaces again.
Some people in the group are starting later, what should we do?
Just let us know, you can either pick up their t-shirt and meal ticket from registration or we can arrange for it to be left at a pub of your choice.
How can I get sponsors?
We’ve found the best way to fundraise is through Just Giving. You can fundraise through Just Giving in two ways.
1 – Set up your own Just Giving page. This way you’ll know how much you personally have contributed to the charity.
2 – Share our general Just Giving page between your friends and family. This saves you the job of setting it up but will make it more difficult for you to work out how much you’ve raised.
Our general Just Giving page is: https://www.justgiving.com/page/almond-pubs-osspubwalk2024
You can download a paper sponsor form by following this link and print your own or pop in to one of the pubs, where we will have them available for you to pick up.
I don’t want to pay online; can I pay cash?
Yes, please just pop in to any Almond Family Pub and speak to the manager who can sign you up and take your payment
