We’re not showing the World Cup

With the World Cup just around the corner, we’ve had a few people ask whether our pubs will be showing the games. The short answer is no – the tournament won’t be screened at our pubs: Jolly Sailor in Davenport, Spread Eagle in Romiley, The Station House in Cheadle Hulme, or Fletchers Arms in Denton. At the Puss in Boots in Offerton, our screens may have the match on – but the experience will not be optimised for football viewing.

Our pubs have always been about good food, good drink and good conversation, and that’s where we’ll be keeping our focus this summer. If you’re after somewhere to escape the football for an hour or two, or simply somewhere to chat about the match you’ve just watched, you’ll be very welcome.

That said, we’ll be cheering from the sidelines. We wish England, Scotland and all the nations taking part the very best of luck – here’s hoping for a summer to remember.
