Our Famous Carveries and Roasts

At Almond Family Pubs, we believe nothing brings people together quite like a traditional Sunday roast. For over two decades we’ve been perfecting the carvery – which is why we’ve long been a Stockport favourite for Sunday lunch. If you’re searching for a Sunday roast, a plated dinner or a carvery near you, our five pubs across Stockport are ready to welcome you with open arms.
Everything we do is built on quality, and an unwavering passion for making sure your carvery or Sunday roast is the best it can possibly be. Across our five Stockport pubs, we work closely with handpicked, trusted local suppliers to source the finest cuts of meat and the freshest seasonal produce, with every ingredient treated with the attention it deserves by our expert chefs – catering to all tastes, and making the perfect roast dinner.
Our carvery is designed to be a feast, no matter the occasion or time of year you’re visiting. Our kitchens are slow-roasting seven days a week at the Fletchers Arms (Denton), Puss in Boots (Offerton), and Spread Eagle (Romiley), with the Jolly Sailor (Davenport) serving carvery every Sunday (our full food menu is available every day), and our latest pub The Station House (Cheadle Hulme) serving a plated Sunday roast every week. We think it’s the best Sunday lunch in Stockport, and we’d love to have you down to try.

Our carvery (served at the Jolly Sailor, Fletchers Arms, Spread Eagle, and Puss in Boots) proudly features four premium roasted joints, carved fresh to order by our expert chefs. Choose from succulent turkey crown, exquisite corner-cut beef topside, tender honey-glazed ham, or the ever-popular Chinese Char Siu marinated pork. Each is roasted to perfection, bringing out the very best in flavour and texture. Whether you stick to your favourite or go for a selection, our meats are always served with your choice of trimmings and as many Yorkshire puddings as you wish. For those who’d like a little more, you can upgrade to a King’s/Queen’s portion, giving you more meat and a larger plate to fill as much as your appetite desires.
Our Sunday roasts at The Station House in Cheadle Hulme are a true celebration of flavour and quality. Choose from four beautifully prepared meats – 35-day aged beef sirloin marinated with black garlic and rosemary, rich and tender red wine & rosemary braised lamb shank, succulent half Shropshire chicken with a lemon & herb rub, or our slow-roasted porchetta pork loin with sage & apple stuffing. Each roast is carefully cooked to perfection by our chefs, ensuring every bite is packed with depth and character. Served with all the classic trimmings, it’s the kind of Sunday roast worth lingering over.
We also cater to vegetarians and vegans with our plant-based ‘chicken’ breast paired with all the same delicious sides and a rich vegetarian gravy, so everyone can enjoy the full carvery experience, regardless of their dietary choices.
No great roast is complete without the proper trimmings, and at Almond Family Pubs, we take them every bit as seriously as the main event. Our chefs carefully curate a selection of seasonal vegetables, always making sure to select whatever is tasting best depending on the time of year.
Our crispy, golden roast potatoes, triple-cooked to perfection, are always popular – fluffy on the inside, and crisp on the outside – while our buttery mashed potato is the ideal accompaniment for our rich, homemade gravies, as are our hand-rolled sage and onion stuffing balls – not to mention our homemade Yorkshire puddings.
Upgrade and have some proper pigs in blankets too – huge, and hand-wrapped in streaky bacon. We’ve always been firm believers that they’re not just for Christmas, so we serve them year round.
Whether you’re joining us with friends, family, loved ones, or anyone else, our team are always ready to give a warm welcome. Bookings depend on party size and date – but for walk-ins, we’ll always try to find you a table. Find your local Almond Family Pub below.
